How to Add a TAHU Shortcut Icon
to your Windows Desktop

Step One: save the image on your hard drive

Right click HERE to download a TAHU icon.
Choose "Save Target As"
Save in "Desktop" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTE: INSTEAD OF SAVING THIS FILE ON YOUR "DESKTOP", IT WOULD BE A BETTER IDEA TO SAVE IT IN SOME FOLDER THAT YOU CAN REMEMBER - YOU'LL NEED IT IN STEP THREE. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The file name should be "TAHUicon.ico" (upper and lower case are important). If it does not enter this name automatically, type the name in the space provided. Click "Save"

Now the small TAHU image is saved on your hard drive.

It is called "TAHUicon.ico" and it is in the "Desktop" (or some folder of your choice).

The image should appear on your main Windows screen - check to see if it is there.

Step Two: create a new shortcut for your Windows Desktop

Right click on any empty space on your Windows Desktop. Choose the "New" then the "Shortcut" feature.
Type in the web address for our website: "http://www.nctahu.org" (do not use quotation marks) Click on the "Next" button.
Type the words "TAHU Website" in the blank space. This is the name that will appear on the screen with your graphic. Click on "Finish"

Now you have a new shortcut on your desktop. When you double click on it, it will open the TAHU website.
The new shortcut has the "TAHU Website" title, but a generic image.

Step Three: add the TAHU image in place of the generic one.

Right click on the new "TAHU Website" shortcut. Choose the "Properties" feature.
Click on the "Change Icon" button.
Click on the "Browse" button.
Look in: "Desktop." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTE: IF, IN STEP ONE, YOU SAVED THE FILE TO A FOLDER INSTEAD OF "DESKTOP", GO TO THAT FOLDER NOW. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Double click on the file named "TAHUicon.ico"
The Icon Change screen will show you the icon you just chose Click "Okay"
The Website Properties screen appears again, this time with the new icon. Click "Okay"
Your new shortcut is on your Desktop screen. It has the TAHU image and the TAHU website name. Now, any time you want to go to the TAHU website, just double click on this icon.
