Gregg Coldiron

CIGNA International Expatriate Benefits

Gregg is a 10-year veteran of the international health care industry. In his current role at CIGNA International Expatriate Benefits (CIEB), he is responsible for new business sales in the Southeast covering: Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama and Mississippi.

Previous to coming into sales, Gregg worked in the Global Corporate Marketing Department where he was in charge of producer relationships, bringing added value to consultants and brokers through innovations such as Academy by CIGNA, a continuing education program. In addition, he spear-headed the CIGNA International Customer Experience program incorporating components of branding, marketing and events.

Previously, Mr. Coldiron achieved success at Aetna Global Benefits (AGB) in building a worldwide provider network in addition to various roles in business development and marketing. In business capacities for CIEB, AGB, and Best Doctors, Mr. Coldiron has traveled to more than 20 countries in Asia, South America, and Europe. Mr. Coldiron is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma.

This is an in-depth upper level class. The subject matter is a compilation of the new rules for contributions, distributions and rollover rules for FSAs, HRAs and most importantly IRAs. Mr. Kavanaugh will discuss comparability rules versus running the contributions through a Section 125 or POP plan.

North Carolina Requirements for Continuing Education

In North Carolina, beginning January 1, 2008, all major line licensees and adjusters must complete 24 credit hours of insurance CE within a biennial compliance period (every 2 years). There are now requirements for ethics and flood CE.

Training for Designations

Instead of taking standalone continuing education credit courses, licensees may take courses leading to an insurance designation. Below is a list of many of the typical designations:

These designees are exempt from NC's 40-hour prelicensing education:

LUTC - Life Underwriter Training Council - Graduate
CFP - Certified Financial Planner
